La Molienda located on Ejido 1439 and Mercedes, telephone number 901.39.47, and open Monday thru Friday from 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. thru 7:00 p.m..
Just some of the food products the offer:
Harina Soba = Soba Flour
Milaneas Seitan = Breaded Seitan Meat
Avena = Oatmeal
Garbanzo Harinas = Chic Pea Flour
Milanesas Soja = Tofu
Acietes = Cooking Oils
Salsa Soja = Soy Sauce
Miel = Honey
Arroz Integral = Brown Rice
They only deliver if you are in the Centro neighborhood. Parking is a bit tough to find because they are located on a main drag, so I suggest you take a Remise (Car Driver) or Taxi.
La Molienda is an artisan fete that I frequent quite often. The prices are reasonable compared to that of the “larger” grocery stores in Montevideo, Uruguay. Its a bit tough to spot so be sure to be looking out for the a tanish brownish sign (unless they changed it, why would they?)
So if you are ever in need of making your own Seitan or Tofu stop by La Molienda, the staff is friendly, and their quality of products are great.
