Odeliza Jacoba Travel Argentina

Oi,

While on my trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina, I took some photos of a Frutas y Verduras stand (Fruits and Vegetables). Here is a shot that I thought was really pretty.

Indian Food

Posted in Argentina by odeliza on the May 3rd, 2009

Oi!

My two most favorite foods around the globe; Southern India and Thailand. Love it! Yeah! So, if the opportunity to have authentic foods is open, I take it.

We ate at http://www.mumbai.restaurant.com.ar/ .

1. Chicken Tikka curry

2. Spinach and Cheese curry

3. Dahal

4. Real Indian Naan

5. Real Riata

6. Basmati Rice

7. Gulab Jamun

The food was spectacular! I loved every bite! It was authentic Indian cusine, delicious, well made, super spicy -just the way I like it-. I wanted to cry because the food was so good!

You have to eat there if you are in the Soho Palermo area of Buenas Aires. It is worth the 45 minutes plane ride and car ride from Montevideo, Uruguay  just to eat there.

Mexican Food

 Mahalo Chico,

I love Mexican food! Especially Tex Mex and Baha Mex types. So while staying at a barrio called Soho Palermo in Buenas Aires, Argentina we stumbled upon a Mexican-Argentina restaurant.

I was so happy!

We had real corn tortillas and real spicy red salsa!

Here is what I ordered:

1. Nachos

The food was wonderful and actually midly spicy. It reminded me of eating Mexican food in Texas. Or Southern California and Cabo, Mexico.

Mahalo Chico,

Kaiseki sushi located at Charcas 4289, tel: 4833-7522, in the barrio Soho Palermo, Buenas Aires, Argentina. Owned and operated by Japanese Argentinas.

I ordered:

1. Tempura Verduras

2. Rolls Especiales Soho -Shrimp Sushi-

3. Arroz

4. My other half ordered: Pollo Teriyaki

As soon as we received the delivery I took the photos. Often times, camera in hand, I begin eating before taking any pictures. So this time before we started I took them.

The meal was a breathe of fresh air. It was executed really well. Often times, having meals from around the world remind me of my travels. Living as an expat in Uruguay has its limits, international cuisine being a big one. So when I ate this meal, I savored it.

Spring, Buenas Aires, Argentina

 Mahalo Chico,

Last evening, my other half and I ate at a buffet type vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the barrio Soho Palermo, Buenas Aires, Argentina. It was right next door to our temporary apartment rental.

So we decided to give it a try for cena -dinner-. Happily named Spring opens at 20:00 Luenas a Veirnes -Monday thru Friday. We arrived at 20:30 and the place was already packed with patriots. I was so amazed because back home -Uruguay- most locals do not like vegetarian foods. This place was packed -no joke- with tons of Argentinas and some Asian Argentinas. I felt almost right at home.

Granted I am not so Asian I am more Pacific Islander slash Euro-Asian. But who cares right?! It was just so awesome to see people in Argentina embrace vegetarian cuisine.

The food had an Asian influence to it and was executed really well as far as capturing the Chinese flavor in vegetarian meat replacements.

I did not take any photos because I was not comfortable doing so. Some people may think I am trying to steal an idea -which I totally am not, just promoting where I ate is all-. Anyways, we are scheduled to take a trot around this chic barrio this early afternoon, so I totally intend to take some photos and post for my readers to see.

Ciao,

Odeliza Jacoba
